WALTER G. AUSTIN, Ph.D., CPA Walter Austin was a financial planner for over 15 years with all of the investment and insurance licenses. He is an Associate Professor Emeritus of the University of Texas at El Paso. He has published self-paced learning materials for college accounting texts, a computerized audit practice set, audit sampling templates, and several articles in journals. He has written a number of continuing professional education courses and has also given a number of speeches to various professional and academic organizations such as the National Association of Accountants, the American Accounting Association, and local CPA chapters. Walter has received numerous teaching awards and is a former Senior Auditor in the financial services industry with KPMG Peat Marwick.
Kenneth Boyd Kenneth W. Boyd, a former CPA, has over 25 years of experience in accounting, education and financial services. In recent years, Ken has served as an Adjunct Professor of Accounting at the Cook School of Business at St. Louis University. Boyd has also taught Financial, Management and Payroll Accounting at Sanford, Brown College. He currently serves as a part-time online instructor for Missouri College. He has been a speaker at the CPA Breakfast Series for St. Louis Community College, and has been quoted numerous times in Small Business Monthly. Ken also worked as an instructor for Dearborn Financial, a division of Kaplan, Inc. He was responsible for teaching test preparation courses for the National Association of Security Dealers (NASD) Series 7, 6 and 63 exams. Ken has written test questions for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Exam for ACT, Inc. A veteran of KPMG - Peat Marwick’s audit department, Ken managed his own accounting practice for 6 years.
Steven Bragg, CPA Steven Bragg has been the chief financial officer or controller of four companies, as well as a consulting manager at Ernst & Young. He received a master’s degree in finance from Bentley College, an MBA from Babson College, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Maine. He has been the two-time President of the Colorado Mountain Club, and is an avid alpine skier, mountain biker, and certified master diver. Mr. Bragg resides in Centennial, Colorado. He has written more than 35 books.
Joseph Helstrom, CPA Joseph P. Helstrom, CPA is the Chief Financial Officer for Carmel Financial Corporation, a sales finance company and is also a partner at CFO Resources, LLC a technology training company focusing on training and courseware for accountants”.. Joe has over 25 years of experience as a CPA in both public accounting and industry. After auditing SEC clients for a large, global public accounting firm, he has managed the internal audit function as well as the financial reporting and analysis function for a global consumer electronics manufacturer and has directed corporate tax and corporate treasury functions for an international manufacturer of automotive parts. He has extensive experience in using and integrating computer applications to enhance the speed and decision usefulness of accounting and financial analysis processes.
L. Keith Jordan, CPA
L. Keith Jordan is a Certified Public Accountant with over 35 years of experience in accounting, supervision, and management. His experience in industry has included general, cost and budgeting accountant; accounts payable supervisor; property accountant; assistant controller; and controller. Mr. Jordan also has experience in academic administration. Part of this experience includes serving as Controller/Business Manager for a higher education component campus.
Mr. Jordan is also a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, a QuickBooks Affiliate, a member of the Intuit Inner Circle, and a contributor to the Intuit forums and other forums. For several years, he taught QuickBooks as a classroom instructor and offered consulting services to help clients with management, accounting, and QuickBooks issues while fulfilling full-time employment responsibilities.
Mr. Jordan is currently self-employed. While he continues to offer consulting services in addition to his other activities, he is primarily engaged in technical writing and editing; much of this work involves continuing professional education (CPE) courses for CPAs. As part of this effort, he has been steadily producing QuickBooks courses for CPE since 2000.
Danny C. Santucci Danny Santucci received his Juris Doctorate from Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California atBerkeley in 1972 at which time he began practicing as a tax attorney in Southern California. In 1980, Danny established the law firm of Santuci, Potter and Leanders in Irvine California. He went into sole practice in 1995 due to increasing lecture and writing committments. His practice focuses on business taxation and estate planning. He has been active in a number of California bar associations and has been a lecturer for a number of state CPA Societies. He is a prolific author of tax and financial books and articles.
Patricia McCarthy Patricia McCarthy, is with CFO Resources LLC, a technology consulting firm that specializes in software training and customized courseware for accountants. Her focus is on Microsoft Excel and Access training. Patricia has been in software training for over 14 years and her client list includes the Indiana CPA Society who awarded her their Outstanding Discussion Leader award. She has been a contributor to the Journal of Accountancy and has published articles in several CPA Society magazines, including Indiana, Missouri and Arizona. She is also certified as a MOS expert in Excel. Patricia is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross and also holds a M.B.A. from Babson College. She was a full-time Lecturer in Butler University’s School of Business for six years and has taught at several of Indiana's other universities. She also has extensive background in audit and financial functions.

He was been published by Wiley, McGraw-Hill, Barron's, CCH, Thompson-Southwestern, Penguin, Prentice-Hall, American Management Association (Amacom), and the AICPA. Dr. Shim received his MBA and Ph.D. degrees from the University of California at Berkeley (Haas School of Business). He has been a consultant to commercial and nonprofit organizations over 30 years.
